Teflon - It's just the bottom inch or so of the screen that heats up. This looks like a very dark tinted strip across the width of the windscreen base. It's supposed to defrost the part where the wipers park - it does get warm to the touch, but not much use til the rest of the screen has cleared! Laughing

Thanks Crackers I have that. So what happens if I need to replace windscreen? Will I be able to get a replacement with this strip?

Crackers. I had the windshield replaced on mine, told them it had the heated strip at the bottom, was'nt a problem, fitted the next day. Also had a choice of green, blue and black tints. Cost? £50 Laughing rest paid by insurence.

Hi Chaps, the small red sticker on the rear door is an indication that the body model is not standard. It does not mean that the model is a winter body, as it could be one of a type. The Sticker on the winter body has at the beginning of the Japanese text an icon of frost. If it has this then it is the winter body, however, this does not mean that it equiped with the WINTER PACK, this is something different. I have been trying to find out for sometime what the winter body is as opposed to winter pack. As far as I can conclude so far is that the winter pack is Heated front screen, heated mirrors, and no more. Winter body is a bit more of a mystery, I have been informed by various owners and salespeople that I have spoken to on the subject over the years that the winter body has an insulation fitted during manufacture, or/and higher suspension, but something definitely on this point I am still waiting to find out. So if anyone out there comes across a positive definition please post.

Chris

From Japanese buyer to confuse matters even more. Confused

They state on auction sheets Winterised Vehicle I do not know if this is denoted by a red label on the back. I have just bought a winterised vehicle and I asked what this was

Quote:
Winterized vehicle
(Can you confirm that my understanding of this is correct. Heated mirrors, front lower screen heater)
A winterized vehicle may or may not have heated mirrors, or a front lower screen heater. However, it does have:
A storonger fuel heater
A storonger starter motor
A stronger alternator
2 batteries
A gas tank door lock

The items I have listed will always be present on a winterised vehicle.

To further confuse this when trawling through auction sheets the Winterised vehicles would always have an extra outlet vent for the aircon mounted in the roof which would be denoted by the W in front of the AAC (Climate Control Aircon) description on the auction sheet.

Hope this further muddies the water, and I am now standing well back out of the way Laughing

Paul

OK - weirdo factor setting in again!!!
I've got a switch on the R/H side of the dash that looks exactly like the heated rear screen one on the L/H and I've got the darkened strip at the bae of the windscreen. However nothing is connected to the R/H side switch - it just seems to be filling a hole like the cruise control one......
What colour wires are connected to the plug that should be attached to this switch?? (just in case it's been unplugged for some reason and never reconnected..)
