Hi all,
I've read through this thread as we have only had our 93 2.5td LWB for a couple of weeks and wondered why it had 2 batteries.
No red sticker
No heated window strip
No heated seats
No heated mirrors
Not sure about the height or the beefed up alternator
but it does have the duel acc in the back?????
Doesn't seem as though there's any consistency with any of paj's!! lol |

Hmmm. I thought that it was either electrically heated in which case I was wary that I might flatten my battery, or that it was heated by the coolant in which case it wouldn't be warm until after the Paj had been running for a while when the normal heated would work anyway. If it is diesel powered, then I suppose that the only power drain would be for the fan and would be ideal to pre-heat the car before getting in. Great!
How do you know it's diesel powered?

So mine is a 1991 MK2 Pajero. 2.5TD. I love gadgets.
I have two batteries.
I have a heater under the rear seat. I didnt know that was what it is. How do you operate it, and how do you set a timer on it? thats a great idea.
heated windscreen - im not sure...i do have a black bit as high as the wipers, but i dont have a switch to opperate it. The space on the dash is a blank where that would be.
I have the red sticker on the rear door, i was wondering just today what that meant. It doesnt have a snow flake on it.
no leather, so no heated seats.
heated mirrors - not sure how to test this. Sounds like its the same switch as rear windscreen.
height - how would i know if its had a 2" lift?
uprated alternator - where do i look and what for?
I do have head light washers, but no wipers on the lights....is that normal? I have a button on the end of the light stalks for this, which with lights on if i press it i can hear a relay in the dash doing something, but no water comes out. Maybe its not been used for the last 17 years?
I have no red sticker on drivers door jam - i do have a which one but i dont know what its telling me. Anyone else have that? |

All the above, batteries heated door mirrors and so, plus grade option.
12volt heater in the boot, located in the side box with jack, plugs into 12volt aux socket, one thermal blanket, plus two pair of foot warmers.

Ok so I have both those things - but nothing else that suggests my Shogun has the winter pack
You say you can get that heater running without the engine? |

2001 Di-D Exceed
1. 2 Batteries
2. Roller blind/screen between aircon condensor and radiator
3. Heated front seats
4. Heater matrix on bottom of windscreen
5. Switch labelled "Heat" on dash below steering wheel on the left hand side
Does *NOT* have:
Sticker
Headlight washers/wipers
Item 2 has been removed - I went north (From Auckland, NZ) for a boating holiday over New Years 2 tons of boat behind the Pajero,, the engine overheated going over the Brynderwyns (A range of hills) and nipped a piston - yes, the blind was deployed, we didn't even know it was there!
No idea what item 5 is for, would be happy if I have a fuel tank heater, as I go skiing every winter, and it gets bloody cold up the mountain.
My advice is to ensure item 2 is either rolled up, or completely removed. It is only required for extremely low temperatures. |
