Can anybody recommend a breakdown scheme for caravans above 26 feet?
The club scheme will only accept 'vans up to 26' and my new caravan arriving next month is officially listed at 26 feet and 1 inch!!!! They wont touch it. I mean how much of a difference can an inch make? (and dont tell the wife I said that)

Thanks Scoptsbob and Stumpyjoe for super fast replies.
Yes that was the Paj Club cover.
The caravan club it is then.

I was going to try and convince the insurers that with the cold weather we get up here shrinkage must be a factor to take into account. But I guess an inch is an inch is an inch!

i have been with th CC for some years now and i only have had one claim (broken window £500 to replace) which was dealt with very quickly and hassle free, just sent a foto with a copy of the police crime number and it was cleared to be fixed at a repairer of my choice.......

Thanks for replies all.
I have sent away Caravan Club membership so will get fixed up with them.
This caravanning malarky is new to us - we get the new 'van in a couple of weeks. Have finally stepped up from a big conway trailer tent, but I hadn't realised just how big the new caravan is!

Scotsbob - I take it you have the caravan insurance as well as breakdown cover through CC as well? I guess they will be as good as any.

i have also had problems; and if you ask any breakdown service tele sales person they will sell you the cover as they don't know the restrictions their selves.  always ask them to check the max length towing as in my experience green flag   RAC direct line will not cover you unless you pay the extra through the clubs.  AA will cover above 7m.  but not in europe..  this month i had to re insure and got a low quote from Adrian flux and they offered 1/2 price break down cover (£45)  when renewing through a company called Equity red star which includes home start and euro cover for upto ninety days  but i am still waiting for terms & conditions to confirm caravan length my self.  Also ask about a higher grade cover as this co. offer more expensive cover for motor homes.   I think the big issue here is to do with the break down truck capacity for max length / combined weight.....Does anyone know?
