... the seals go by two different numbers, one is a Zexel number for parts sourced in Japan, and the other number is the Bosch number.
The numbers are being standardised and the front seal for the pump is Bosch No 9 461 615 373 with -753 in smaller numbers after that. That is from a packet containing a new seal in front of me as I write. This is the seal that fails giving the usual symptoms of cutting out and engine oil in the diesel.
The top pump seal is 9 461 615 663 with -753 in small numbers after that, again from a new seal in the packet. This seal is the usual culprit for drips of diesel fuel escaping from the pump on the outside.
The Zexel numbers are also there, but I think they may confuse if I quoted them.
These apply to the 4m40 engine, the pump with the mechanical advance mechanism, not for the electronic pump on the later models.
Hope this helps.

So - The 2.8 fuel pump seal bosch part numbers :
Top fuel pump seal : 9 461 615 663 with -753 in small numbers after that
Front fuel pump seal : 9 461 615 373 with -753 in smaller numbers after that
These apply to the 4m40 engine, the pump with the mechanical advance mechanism, not for the electronic pump on the later models
Thanks Hugh!
