|
|
Whilst doing my Dials today, I took the opporunity of taking a piccy of the warning clusters on my truck, to help others to see if any off the bulbs had blown etc etc.
PLEASE REMEMBER, THE PICTURES BELOW ARE FROM A 1993 Mk2 2.5TD AUTO LWB, may even differ within that range. Perhaps if anyone else has them from other derivitives, they could add to this topic.
Anyway,...............
CENTRE CLUSTER LAMPS (AROUND 4WD SUPER-SELECT INDICATOR PANEL)
REV COUNTER LAMPS (BOTTOM LEFT OF REV DISPLAY)
Hope they help someone. |

In the bottom picture, the green bit with the squiggly line........ is that the glow plug heater light? If so, I thought that a 2.5TD didn't have that light Well mine hasn't anyway....... just get the clicks |

Yes it is and no its doesnt your right. Some bits are a standard 'part' across the entire range. That one doesnt not have a bulb behind it, so does not light up, just like the cruise light.
But if you did want to wire a light up tothe glow-plugs, hey a little LED inthe pocket behind that and your away! |

It does seem strange that the space for the light is there, and no doubt the space for the bulb holder with the track will be there too.......... why didn't they just fit it? |

funny, my 1st mk1 (swb) had no door open light, and i just thought that was because it was a swb, and not required. now my older mk1 swb has it, so it was just the bulb never worked before!
so, it is quite usefull to know what your paj may potentialy have, so can check if bulbs are ok. |

Got the same display on mine - same age etc - but what does it mean when the two front wheels on the 4x4 bit flash green when in 2wd? Bound to be expensive... |

Means the system is running a 'self-diagnostic' check thats all. Should go out after a bit mate. Panic if they dont.

Start the engine up in 2WD with AT in P. Move SS4WD upt into 4WD, wiat for 30secs, go through the AT gears, RND and vice versa back into P.
If all lights stop flashing, your in 4WD, take her for a little slow spin, nothing heavy.
Before you turn back to come home, stick her in P again, knock the SS4WD back in 2WD, and repeat process.
This should help. Its probably where its nt been used for a while. |
