I take it that you have warned your fellow Islanders, that NTN is coming to visit............ giving them a chance raise the draw bridge, load the cannons and get the tar and feathers ready........ That is, if he manages to find his way there..... NTN could be having a week in Stornaway instead |

ok,
Jase is doing well .. he has site, maybe, potential weekend may be 24-26 May next year 2009 which should fit with kids hols etc ......
and it is a good central location .... close to major transport links as well.... he is awaiting information etc on the site, and prices, but he has already found a 4wd site for private hire close by .....
I for one appreciate the work he has done on this, as I'm sure many others will, who have tried in the past to find us a site ...
fingers crossed .......
once sorted -- lets all work together to bring it together !!

i wonder cant be that hard can it |
you got anywhere on this yet?
you are in Reading - tons of stuff around there ..... I lived there for 15 years come on - can't be that hard can it ...? or do it remotely in an area not close to you ... the methodology is similar - in no particular order ....
ring the ROW officer and sort out legal lanes, reccie them, produce roadbooks or get leaders sorted - ensure all Health and Safety is met ...
find a decent campsite with leccy hook up at a reasonable price, that will accept a 4wd club, and a club gazebo ( or 5 ) , and is family friendly,
sort out all the bookings, make sure that folks pay etc
source all the kit needed, make sure it arrives on time, and is taken away
make sure that there are enough activities to keep everyone amused - from dedicated off-roaders to laners, to newbies, to families, to shoppers , to people who just pass by and saw us ..
sort out some entertainments -
get some local sponsors to donate prizes - or get folks on pocuk to
keep websites up to date
keep a spreadsheet of bookings and payments etc - as you are accountable
ok, thats the main bits covered I think ... so, like you said, not that hard .... especially now some angles of it have been spelled out .... i am happy to help on some of this, if you can get the ball rolling ... similarly, lots of other folks will help ... how did you get on with finding a suitable camp site - like we said ..? This is the main deciding factor, and liason with the site is key, so that nobody gets a surprise ....
if knight can't come up with something, any other practical ideas are welcome, but please check that the above rough criterias can be met ...... so many campsites look fine, but have no hook up, or want quiet after 11pm, or don't allow gazebos ....
cheers

willing to take a back seat on this .... |
Umm i see , funny how you dont really think of it all until some one spells it out for you, better leave it to the grown ups |
