We had some great times, a certain big bus company in the West Midlands took a right hammering when we were kids, you had your tag on the front of a bus and you were hailed as god!
To get your tag on the upper deck of a bus you had to do something like this, it was called surfing:

Took skill to bypass the Emergency Window alarm which went off in the drivers cab, then to get down without hurting yourself!

Its funny how your view on things change as you grow older.
When I was a tagger, I didnt care whos property I sprayed on, but now if someone was to spray on my property or if my kids sprayed on someone elses I'd kill 'em!
The joys of youth ay? Wink

I've seen quite a few of the Banksy's in London and they often blend perfectly with the environment they are in through clever placement and choice of colours. He doesn't just run up and paint over someone's front door or fence as you might expect a normal scroat to do.

I saw a very small banksy-esque (doubt it was his though) silhouette of a small figure fishing being painted over one day near Tower Bridge and nearly everyone who passed stopped to ask the painter why he was getting rid of it. It added a feature of interest to an otherwise dull and anonymous wall. Now there's just a patch of white paint which doesn't quite match the faded paint of the rest of the wall, which looks even more stupid.

Personally I'd flog it, but that's because I'm skint  Laughing

Sorry to drag this up again...... not! Laughing  Laughing

Banksy is back Very Happy

A new image has appeared on the same wall as his previous "Stop and search girl" (that was destroyed by an overzealous wall owner).

The new image appeared a few days ago and shows a black-and-white 'squatting', Michael Eavis, headed "Jay Zeavis", Banksy obviously not impressed with Michael Eavis' choice of headline artist! Laughing

I'll try to get a picture for those that are interested once I can get near the A361 through the town (when they're all locked-in to the festival site this weekend probably Wink )

I work with the probation service taking out groups of offenders removing graffiti and while there are the very very occasional piece that is artlike mostly its racist rude and mindless tags which to me is criminal damage I so very often remove this rubbish from very elderly peoples homes which are very upset by it being plastered on their property ..Its a shame we dont get the actual graffiti spraying scum to remove it i would supply them with a toothbrush to get it off !!!! Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  rant over now !!! Embarassed

It did look like that Mark...... Rolling Eyes

The owner has done it again! (sort of) Rolling Eyes

The mural has now been covered by some nice bits of ply, drilled and screwed over the top of the image, and the Teddy (which wasn't destroyed, from the original "Stop and Search Girl"). I'm guessing he's now protecting his interests, not allowing the local 'hoody brigade' the chance to spray over it... but stopping people admiring as they pass...... and keeping the pic in good shape ready to sell-on! Sad

Here's the latest....

from http://bristolgraffiti.wordpress.com/

Apparently the new one's by 'Syd TV' and not 'Banksy' (which doesn't surprise me) Wink so the owner painted over £50,000+ and then protected something worth nothing!  Laughing  Laughing

These "artists" are just inconsiderate, selfish attention seeking vandals, simple as that.

I view these scumbags the same way I view the scroats who key cars.

There was a documentary on TV recently with a couple of these neds, and I spent the whole time watching and shaking my head. So now they are making corporate money out of their "anarchist" behaviour.

It's like these murderers who go to jail, write a book and make a fortune because they have seen the error of their ways, or that bloke  on the radio recently claiming to have burgled 8000 homes in one year, and is now lecturing to school kids about how naughty it is.

Makes me sick. No wonder the country's so screwed.
