Ooohh yeah (sorry Mrs G, this one's going off topic!)

When I first started my gas conversion back in March, lpg was around 42p litre, even as low as 38p if you went to the big contractors rather than the garages.

M1 Watford Gap services yesterday...... 62.9p!!! That's a 50% increase in 3 months.  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad

I know it's still a site cheaper than petrol but between Gordon(The Highwayman) Brown and the petrol companies someone is taking the p*ss!

1994 LWB Shogun 3.0 V6 (My Third V6 now!) Had 2 diesels... not good...

LPG, don't do the miles to get the payback..

One interesting calc though, over 10000 miles it will cost be £140 more in Petrol than running my 2.5TD...
...Not a big price to pay for silky smooth running and the performance

Diesel 26MPG
Petrol 22MPG

Cost per 10000mpa
1746.15 litres of Diesel £2290.95 (131.2 per litre)
2063.6 litres of Petrol £2426.84 (117.6 per litre)

Difference £135.88

A 3.5 24V will be even better!  Wink and the divide may grow

Anyone care to check my figures for me  Wink

I bought this Shogun this week and they guy had 3 offers of swaps for Diesels, saying that my SWB TD sold in half a day on Autotrader. Confused
Petrol 22MPG
Confused  Confused  Confused I sold a 3.0  24v earlier this year, & the mileage was more like 16-17 mpg Confused  Confused  Confused

They might do more if the gearing was sorted, even although its a V6, it still ran at 3000 rpm at 70mph!! Wink

I have had 3  V6 24 Valves now and a heavy right foot can see figures way below anything quoted.

16-17 average is a bit harsh...   Confused

I have just sold a 2.5TD and to get the equivalent performance you can lift the right foot a bit! Mud Terrains get a bit noisy of you clog it... mind you never noticed it in the diesel!!  Laughing  Laughing

I'll do the figures at 17 when i can be bothered and not driving my silky smooth monster!!  Wink

N00b here,
just got meself a 1989 2.6 petrol LWB..
Doesn't run LPG (I wish!), the cost of a conversion over here is enough to put most people off!

Having said that. it seems a lot easier on the juice than what I'm used to - BMW E34 535i drinks it like a fish, so even a big ol' bus like the Shogun merely sips petrol in comparison!
