Looking at getting a 04 / 05 crew cab early next year....

Main reason is to escape the road tax increase and still be able to tow the caravan  Wink

I trust the crew cabs are classed as commercials and it still £185 for 12 month tax ?
Are they timing chain or belt and if belt when are they due for change ?
What are they like for towing, do they have high / low box and rear diff lock ?
What sort of mpg does the 2.5 engine return ?
Anything to look out for when shopping around ?

Sorry for all the questions, look forward to your replies  Cool

Answers to all this and more on
www.l200.org.uk

Single/crew/double cabs all the same VEL rate

Cam belt every 54,000 miles

High and low box and most have diff lock - alot use them for towing as part of their job - 3.5 tonne mini diggers and trailers quite often

Depending on how you drive anything from 25 to 35 mpg

Some issues with rods coming out of engines on the 53 plate models

Mines a Mk2 model double cab imported from Japan - over 15 years  and 187,000 miles and still chugging along
