alright all just after other pepoles experinces with this as looking to get out a new years package deal

every where i read it says if you break down and we can not repair at side of road , we either tow you to your destanation (home) if a suitable garage can not be found ,

my concern with this if i totaly killed a engine or something drastic would they just tow me to a garage and expect me to pay and have it repaired ie mitubushi garage and me end up with a stupidly high bill from mitsy for something i could of done myself when got back home .

is there a max distance they will tow you back home as i travel a good 200miles away and if broke down would i just be stuck when all i want them to do is fetch me home

any advice or experince

thanks

RAC and the AA offer recovery to any UK destination if they can't repair the vehicle. You just need to make sure it is included in the package you choose as it isnt automatically part of every package.

ah, now in this i am an expert!  Laughing

having vast experience of recovery trailers of many kinds and times of day, i can confirm that they take you home or to your destination, dependent of course on you taking out that kind of cover in the first place, watch the small print.

watch the rac for trailers though, one time i had a horsey with me, they said they would take the paj and trailer, but not horsey, as no insurance for livestock. i wasn't keen to leave him on the hard shoulder!

turned out ok though, as the job was franchised, and the local garage that came out to me said 'sign here dear, and we will get your horsey home too'

In 19 years of being in the AA, i have used them three times and every time has been very good service.

Debi's paj has been recovered twice by Green flag
once when the altinator belt went on the M20 and we got recovered to the caravan site we were aiming for, no attempt at road side repairs ,local agent on behalf of green flag even helped us pitch the tintent onto its site  Laughing with advice if you can't get it fixed locally we will recover back to home address

2nd time
bottom pulley let go in Barnsley ,again local agent ,they arrived within 20 mins ,didn't even lift the bonnet to look for cause of breakdown just loaded it up and dropped it off outside our house

I'm with Greenflag (part and parcel with my insurance). The old Paj was recoverd twice and fixed once by them  Rolling Eyes  no problems.

As already said, make sure recovery is part of the deal.
The AA usually have some good 'introductory' offers and you can pay by monthly DD.

Very Happy
