Hi

I have been offered a rear axle from a Mk2 SWB that has the famous red LSD sticker, it is a stolen recovered so has no vin plate to show the axle ratio, I want to fit it in my Mk1 and wondered if anyone knew of a list of what ratio went with what model/year etc....

Any help or comments gratefully recieved Very Happy

Pete

Hmmmm unsure but these are my initial thoughts:

1. Can you get the front axle from the same car too? (And will it fit)?
2. Isn't the rear suspension completely different with all but the last few years of Mk1s being leaf springs and Mk2s having coils?

Paul

Front won't work on a Mk1 as the diff is totally different for the super select 4x4.....

Mine is one of the last and is on coils so I "believe" the rears are interchangable....

Hi

if you can fit 2.8 in there ,  you diffs will be fine you truck is v6 petrol and it will have 4635 or 4636 ratio
2.8td normaly runs 4.900 ratio for lwb, or 4636 on swb
you will notice only small diffrence
