Hi Simon,
sent funds to you via p-pal hopefully in the short term this effort will get us out of trouble?
I think that I speak for many like minded persons and wish to say that this site is far too useful to risk loosing and would therefore be prepared to pay an agreed sum for the privilege of life time membership annualy. Life time membership could then be defined as period that you are a paying member?
To balance things up all forums available to LTM's.
Limited access and postings to none payers.
This wouldn't need to cost members much to keep this excellent site available to those of us that appreciate it.
Any that support this suggestion please pass comment!
regards
Mark (mph). |

To be honest ... I think that some people are almost intimidated by the term 'LifeTime Membership' ... one person even asked - "Why would I take it out - I'm not going to own this vehicle forever"
'Club supporter' might be better maybe
Whatever!
Over the last couple of days, nearly £400 has come in - it's a fantastic effort - thank you all!!!
Simon
ps - don't forget - if you DO use PayPal, there's an option to send the money as a 'gift' - this way PayPal don't take a cut!!! |

If you use the gift selection it asks who will pay the fees, if you pay them it adds the cost to the "gift" ie 10.00 becomes £10.54. If you choose the recipient to pay costs it charges the £10 and they receive £10 less the fee. |

Maybe it's not 'gift' - maybe it's 'personal' ...
I know I've moved money to another account recently and neither account had a paypal charge on it

Hmmm ... 'guest' / 'supporter' maybe, or 'ordinary member' / 'associate member'
I don't really want to make such a basic distinction, especially when there are people here who may not (be able to) contribute financially, but make a massive contribution in other ways!
One of the strengths (and possibly one of the weaknesses) of the YD Clubs are the fact that they ARE free to join and that financial support is not mandatory.
Something to discuss at another time in a thread of its own
