Liverpool Victoria website states they do not insure imported cars!!!!!!
Any clues???? It informs you of the fact at the start of the online quote process. |

Have a look at one of the other LV threads on here. One of them mentioned that and it was rubbish I believe. |

It's saying they can't guarantee an accurate online quote ... it's NOT saying they don't insure imports!!!!

I suggest you go to their website and try. Click on motor insurance then quote, before you enter any information a page is displayed saying what they will and wont insure, motor cycles, pick ups etc, etc.
Listed (in their words), "WE CANNOT INSURE CARS WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN MANUFACTURED FOR THE UK MARKET EG JAPANESE IMPORTS".
I think the statement speaks for itself |

Ding-dong! (Only used that once before and got a load of stick when I did...)
Check the 'insurers' forum ... click on the top LV link, (yes, LV = Liverpool Victoria).
LV still insure imports, regardless of what their website says!
Ours is with them, as are loads of club members.
When LV stop insuring imports, we will take them off our list of recommended insurers!

There must be something wrong with my web browser. Clicked on insurers forum, then clicked on your link to LV and was then presented with 3 to 4 paragraphs of information with "I AGREE" link at the bottom. One of the paragraphs was "my car is not a Japanese import". I jest ye not, please try. |

".... and some fell on stoney ground."
REGARDLESS of what is says on the LV website, they STILL insure imports.
How many times does this need to be re-stated?
Ignore the website, give them a call.
Better still ... surprise yourself ... go to their website, then go through the 'quick quote' online quotation ... select Mitsubishi ... wait for the screen to refresh then select the list of models ... guess what? Yes - you're right! There it is ... the Pajero!
Please let me recap : LV still insure imports ... when they stop, we will either remove them from the list of insurers, or, as they still insure the Shoguns, their profile will be lowered on the site.
Please will members stop saying 'LV don't insure imports, it says so on their website'.

I did go to web site and went through quick quote system and there was my model, which they quoted within a bracket (very competative I may add). But please cut me some slack, it does state all that I mentioned earlier, I dont have an axe to grind here but when it comes to insurance you have to dot every i and cross every t. We have all heard of horror stories where insurers have refused to payout because people have not disclosed some information, (sometimes trivial information). The last thing any of us want is insurance problems following a serious incident. There was never any doubt in my mind whether LV was a respectable company or not, in fact I was very disapointed when I first visited their web site because I realy do wish to use them. But you must a least agree with me that in one hand they state they dont insure imports but then contradict themselves by listing imported models, very confusing, I think you would agree with me their position should be made more clear, on their own web site. |

I have personal experience of LV paying out on an insurance claim. In fact, they were brilliant. 10/10. They even paid for a loan car for me for four weeks while a glove-box catch/lock was being sent from Japan. I kid ye not, they are a respectable company. Good luck. |

Sorry Bazzer, but it's can't just be because you have an import! I have an import as well, but their quote for me is very competitive & much much better than many so called 4x4 specialists.
Do you have a murkey past |

Sorry, it doesn't.
Shogun is listed but not the Pajero. Just been on and tried.

They've got a new 'quick quote' system ... you have to follow the link off the front page of their website to end up here : http://www.liverpoolvictoria.co.uk/customer/mgiolp_launcher.htm
Because this is more comprehensive, and they don't do an online quote for the imports anymore, you have to call them.
The online system still says 'we do not insure import' ... what this means is 'we do not provide an online quotation for imports'.

I take Simon's point and the answer is, of course, to ring them but I am puzzled by the above.
I have followed the link and the models listed are: 3000, Carisma, Challenger, Colt, Cordia, Galant, Lancer, Sapporo, Shogun, Sigma, Space Wagon and Starion.
No Pajero there. So, if Marc can find it and I can't, what am I doing wrong?
