hi can anyone help please i have had to rebuild my engine and put a new torque converter on now i am at the point where i am refitting the engine but i cant get the engine to line up on the gear box it has been ripped out and put back in a few times now i am on the verge of smashing the 4x4 with a sledge hammer or going to the garage to buy some petrol and a lighter can anyone give me a ide of how to get them to line up and slot on cheers kev

Hi mate
have you put the torque converter on the engine ? if so you may have damaged the oil seal in the box !
you need to take torque converter of the engine and gently put it in the gear box turn it by hand and you will feel it slot in and engage on the pump then fit the engine to the box. turn the starter plate and bolt to torque converter

Torque converter off as said then engine in and slide it back in mate  Wink Good Luck for tomorrow  Very Happy

will pay you to have a good look at the oil seal in the box, before you put the torque converter in the box, as it is esay to change now

just checked the seal it seems ok no oil leaking or damage marks so hopefully should be cool cheers mate goin for round 2 now

right well got past the hurdle of getting engine fitted to gearbox got it all bolted in and now the f@+&er wont start it turns over the timing seems to be spot on diesel is gettin through just cant figure out why wont start
