i'm having a little problem on shifting my manual 97 pajero. the first gear seems to get "stucked" and very hard to release. but once the engine warms up enough, the shifting is much easier, way much easier.

i'm having a hard time shifting. my dad prefered the manual version of the car so we got it and then not the first would not let go easily. we have to choke it a few times to unstuck the thing. any idea? it performes way better when left for warm up longer.

Sounds almost like the selector is worn .......I know very little about manual boxes but if you click on Search at the top of the forum page and search for this 'phrase' :

manual AND gearbox AND change AND gear

... I'm sure theres something in there

HTH

Question when was the oil changed last in the box.............I was going to say it could be due to the oil temp .but then noticed where you live  Laughing
