I assume it is the electrical sunroof.

The rust will not be the glass - it will be the metal surround which is part of the cassette that contains the glass, the motor and the sliding mechanism.

It looks a bit like THIS - except the one in the link is for a MkIII which I don't think will fit yours.

To change it you will have to remove the roof lining as it is bolted to the underside of the roof with 6 or 8 bolts.

If it's just the frame that goes around the glass that's rotted ( some do that !) then you can replace that quite easily. A friend of mine had the same issues a while back and bought a good frame complete with glass from a breaker's yard, I remember it being quite straight forward to replace it.  Wink

No damn edit  Rolling Eyes forgot to say, if your replacing the whole lot as Pete says then it's a headlining job out as well, however what I described does not involve that !

Thank you all for your reply, yes the frame that holds the glass has pretty much rotted away, when I took the seal off most of the metal that it was attached to came with it ! The rest of the sunroof slides / motor work fine , so was looking to replace the glass/frame only, problem is sourcing a good used one  Crying or Very sad Any one out there no of any breakers I could contact ?
Many Thanks,
Sonik.
