After giving the paj death atleast 15 times off road with no major problems i was pretty chuffed then the engine went so fixed that then back out offroading again with fresh oil in all diffs box`s etc.

That when pulling from the lights in 4wd BANG but still drove fine i thought it was the front roll bar which is hanging off but no then it started doing it more when turning. I changed one of the cv`s as it had alot of play & it still makes the noise. No noise what so ever in 2wd drives fine.

If i put it in low range 4wd c diff lock & put me toe down or turn it really makes a banging noise like gears jumping off each other. Infact i makes that much noise i dont know how something hasnt smashed out ? makes same noise going forward or reverse.

I think its the Transfer box any other ideas ??

& are the auto & manual transfer boxes the same noticed levers are other way around ??

Cheers Deano

i'd be jacking the front end up and checking for play in the drive shafts and front diff you might have wound it up and knickknackered it up fingers crossed something far more simply and cheaper but as it only does it in 4wd and the front diff only operates in 4wd then this would be my bet good look let us klnow the outcome Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

There is abit of play in the front diff but nothing different than before the planet gears etc where still there when i took the drive shaft out.

I might take the front diff cover off & have a proper look.

Thanks for reply
