From the list above, (it's a fixed list!), which of them do you vote as the most memorable in your mind (and why?)

Got to be the twin towers for me.
Having family working there (in & around them) but also the massive destruction caused & the way its still shaping the worlds thoughts & actions.
However seeing a photo of nick in fishnets would have had my vote if included |

Twin Towers for me ...
I was in the car that day, when I got a sudden chill up my spine and, for no particular reason, switched the radio on to hear it all start to unfold ...
Got home and switched the TV on just as the second plane came in on the towers.
I just sat and watched, in a state of disbelief.

I would have gone for the Twin Towers as i too watched it unfold whilst i was decorating and heard it on the radio, then closely followed it on Sky news, i didnt get much more decorating done that day
But .....
I have gone with Dianas death though, we were in Portugal at the time and it was 2 days after it had happened that we found out, we headed off down to the beach and stopped of at one of the local shops when the newspaper rack caught my attention, all the front pages were heavily black fronted, it chilled me big style, just could not believe it, Im not a tabloid buyer usually but i did that day, even in Portugal at a beach resort it was the talk of the town
Its funny how these events can stay in your mind forever and you can remember exactly where you were standing and what you were doing at the time, and yet i cant remember what i did last Wednesday |

The two most memorable for me are Princess Diana's death and The twin towers, But because Diana's accident and death had already happened when i awoke for work that early Sunday morning, The twin towers has to be The most memorable because like many others i watched it unfold after the first plane hit in a customers front room on sky news as i was delivering a bathroom suite.... |

Has to be the death of Princess Di. I remember getting up that morning, switching on the news and being gobsmacked. Also remember the absolute silence in town the morning of her funeral - virtually nobody around.
Twin Towers a close second. I was still teaching back then and one mum thought it was all brilliant. Spectacular yes, brilliant - definitely not! Scary - very!!! |

9/11 is most memorable for me as I can't remember much before then. My lifestyle unfortunatelty causes me to lose memories from my childhood |

Berlin wall coming down for me, I remember the breaking news, I was in my bedroom at home watching on my old clunky black and white TV (that only had 3 channels!) and I was amazed by what was being reported.
Closely followed by the twin towers, I was in work at the time and remember a colleague coming up from the rec area in our canteen saying, 'someones flown a plane into the world trade centre in New York' Our collective reaction was 'Yeah Yeah, youre pulling our legs'
Sadly everything he said was true and indeed it was happening. |

For me it was the birth of my son. But from Simons list I would choose the Twin Towers.
We were sat at work and our boss told us what was going on.
We all went into the conference room and watched the whole thing unfold on a 12' x 12' screen. |

I was hoping it would be "Gordon Brown get run over by M.P.s pay wagon, volunteers are needed to clean up 5,000 sq metres"
In all seriousness I would say the twin towers. I sat and watched that with mouth open it was horrendous but fascinating in a funny sort of way to see such a gigantic building collapse into itself. All those rescue workers who were there and lost their lives. and people who just couldn't stop and jumped from 30 or 40 storeys. A terrible day. I still have the front page from a couple of newspapers. |
