Hello m8...
Can you tell me what do you mean by SERVICE...
I mean what are you exchanged to get a good MPG after Service?
Thanks for the reply..
I have a 2.5 LWB which takes NOW around 21 Liters per 100 Km...(21 liters per 60 miles) whish is an enormous consumption...
I want to take it to a garrage for a new SERVICE, but just want to know what i need to do there...
Thanks

Can't give exact figures but I use 3/4 of a tank a week! It was starting to get sluggish and as I haven't serviced it in 90k miles I thought I better change the fuel and air filters!!! Hurrah not only is it faster and smoother I'm also saving around £15 a week in Diesel! Just goes to show servicing does work! Might even change the oil now! Just to say my Pajero sits on the drive most of the year as I ride motorbikes most of the time, and other than a flat battery it has never failed to start! Mine is 21 years old and I cant ever see me buying another car! yes its that good even my son ( a massive Land Rover fan) is buying one!

Very Happy

I usually get around 26 - 27 mpg from my 2.8 exceed.
However I do have a 25 mile run to work at very quiet times of the day and slipping into overdrive at 40 and cruising at that I can squeeze up to 33 ppg out of her.
Its a bit boring though.
Very Happy

If it is serviced regularly I cannot see why anyone should get less than 27mpg, driving reasonably gently.
Foot flat to the floor will result in consumtion in single figures, but easy driving should attain over 30 mpg with 25/6/7mpg overall easily attainable.
Do not forget oil changes at regular intervals work wonders, and I include diff oils as well. Low mileage should mean an oil change at at least 1 year intervals. Filters as well!

Cheers!

Hi!

I got a Mitsubishi Pajero from 1986. 4G54 (2.6L petrol engine)
It is modified for running on gas, on that it uses like 1L for 4 KM (It's around 9-10 MPG)

Does anyone knows what it should run on PETROL and GAS?

Thanks!

Here we go then!

figures recorded since 15th of june 08 (yawn).

Best       25.37 mpg
Worst     18.46 mpg
Average 20.85 mpg

I don't really care about the mpg but it can be a good indicator of service requirements etc, my consumption dropped noticably just before service was due and then improved after service was carried out. this convinces me more that those in the know that say service, service, and service again are correct and we should all learn from this! These trucks love new oil and filters! When was your's last serviced and how many miles since the last?

Mark

I dont really understand how new oil and filters effects consumption but I'm no expert at this stuff. How often would you service the bits then??
