So a full tank, 50l does 267 km's on my '93 mk1, so per 100 kilometers that would be 18,72

Does that sounds reasonable? Any ideas how to boost it? I heard that the carberators in the MK1 aren't that good.
Any ideas on that?

As a matter of interest, I'm getting the equivalent in cost of 30 - 35 mpg with Maranelli LPG conversion with 2006 3.00 L Shogun Sport Warrior depending on type of run. I also do not seem to get too bad a drop off in mileage when towing our Senator Wyoming twin axle caravan. The LPG conversion does not appear to give any noticeable power drop off. Many thanks Eta Engineering for an excellent job and very good support with a couple of teething troubles, easily fixed. Now let's hope the government burghers don't start pushing duty up again!javascript:emoticon('Confused')

A mixture of around town and a 40 - 60 mph long journey got me 26.1 mpg.

Happy with that

Just done 230 miles over the weekend, 180 miles motorway driving mainly at 70 -75mph. The rest around town etc. Got 23.5mpg overall. At one stage on the motorway the computer was showing 35.5mpg! Sadly that didn't last longer than a mile lol.

Not too upset with that on a 3.5 V6 petrol auto.
