Bought a Fieldmaster from these guys not long ago. Good or bad - Read the facts and decide for yourself.

Went to view LWB 2.8 Fieldmaster - Body excellent - scrubby underneath tidy inside.
Road tested and everything okay.
Just as a precaution - got it MOT'd again - faults found :-

Front nearside drive shaft gaiter required replacement.
Rear nearside and offside anti roll bars distorted (Bushes)
Front section of exhaust leaking
Front nearside windscreen wiper distorted
One bulb gone.

Obviously no PDI or service was carried out prior to delivery

The oil was blacker than a black thing at midnight and the sump guard removal to get at the oil filter had not been removed for ages.
Two retaining bolts sheared on removal which proved it.

They gave 6 months warranty and when I collared them about it they said bring it back

Went the 111 miles back and they cured everthing in a day and lent me a car to poodle round Mumbles for the day

Car ready at 6 pm - work done

Now a nice vehicle although the timing chain is a bit of a rattle

Since the half shaft gaiters were renewed - the mechanic had used a 4 mm nylon strap to secure it. The lack of width was not enough to secure the gaiter totally and it popped off at the hub side. I rebanded it with a wider metal band. The drive shaft spline had no circlip on it.

The front section of the exhaust was replaced but the middle box had exhaust paste smeared on it to hide a broken weld.

GLC Autos have offered no compensation for fuel used to travel 111 miles to them or my return journey in order to get the reapirs completed.

All in all - a very poor service and I shall not be dealing with them again - and would advise anyone else to stay clear.
