Is it just me or has anyone else tried to hunt down a bullbar/A bar for a mk1 Challenger? Only one I can find is a cheeky little Jaos number, nice, but not quite worth the £950 asking price. Doubtless the shipping cost from the U.S of A would cripple me wallet as well.
A friend says buy an L200 bullbar and, in his words, "Just weld the c*** on" ....
Feel free to intervene, i've had a few ales & probably should know better.
But it does sound like a good idea |

Hi matey, I've been having loads of trouble finding Challenger bullbars lately, the only one I could find was a Jaos number at £950 without import costs.
I've been talking to my friends today, one's a welder, the other is a mechanic, and we're in the process of getting fitting guides for the L200 bars, and schematics (if you could call them that) of the two different veicles to see if we can weld one straight on to a Challenger.
The only conclusion we have come to as yet is that tig welding isn't strong enough in the case of an accident/serious knock. Had a few beers you see
Anyway, I've been told by numerous 4x4 specialists that an L200 bullbar won't fit even with modifications, but we don't beleive them so we're going to blue vain it and get some proper results; See what holes need to be drilled, plates to be welded etc, keeping at simple & as safe as poss so hopefully we won't have to fettle the chassis at all, and report back for anyone nuts enough to do the same.
First we need beers

shogun sport bullbars fit but you will have to drill two holes one either side of the lower grill (about 30mm in dia) for the brackets to bolt to the chassis then the other two brackets bolt behind the headlights 1 each side and rest on top of the bumper giving 4 points of contact to the bull bar hope this helps
and as for tyres check my thread under readers drives titled WORK IN PROGRESS |

I have fitted L200 wheels with BFG A/T 265/75/16 tyres and they look great... I did have to shave off a few mm off the mud flaps inner edge where the tyre fouled, but no big deal
I gave up on a bull-bar ages ago and fitted driving lights direct to the bumper... see the other thread for details
good luck
