Glad you are on the right track.

Hope you did not get affected by the storm.

glad i found you guys.. really a great help..

im 600km away from the storm no damage on my place.. but the place hit by the storm is totally devastated.. lots of floating 3.2 pajeros due to storm surge

---- one more question my previous mechanic have loosen the the 3pcs 14mm nut on the injection pump to adjust it clockwise / counterclockwise..
im not sure if it is on the correct position because i can only see timing mark on the connecting plate on the left, no visible mark on the injector side..
is my timing affected if it has been rotated? does it have advance and retard just like the gasoline engine?

These pumps need set up on a test bench and then fitted, without any further adjustment.
They can be adjusted on the car but need a lot of special equipment usually at a dealer.

a mechanic told me that since the pump is electronically controlled by the ECU adjusting it clockwise or counterclockwise wont affect the timing, unless the gear itself is not on its proper place..

is this true?

Thats why it needs the equipment as it is all about adjusting the computer settings.
The only bolts I can think of are the mounting ones.
Have you checked the vacuum pipes to the manifold etc.
