Hi folks.
Just a quick question...
My Paj is looking a little tatty.
On the strip above the window the black paint is coming off, revealing the chrome underneath.
Plus the two strips on either side of the Paj, that go from the windscreen over the roof also need looking at.
I was thinking of taking them off and re spraying them rather than replacing them...unless they are relatively cheap?
Do the strips above the windscreen and the two other strips come off easily enough to re spray?
Cheers.
Mike. |

To be honest taking the screen surrounds off just to paint can be a risky business, I would mask them with tape either side of the trim pieces and remove any old paint with a fine wet and dry paper ( just use dry ), then scotchbrite the trims so there dullish, and finish with a grey spray undercoat, dont put the undercoat on heavy, you want just dust coats so it is a good base for the finish coat of satin black. Same for trims at bases of each door window.
A popular mod on here in the early days for the door trims, was to use black vinyl tape, which had good results....Certainly wouldnt take off the screen surrounds for paint, unless your really lucky and dont damage them removing |

What about if the rubber has perished in places under the windscreen surround?
How do you replace the rubber? Does it come as one with the surround pieces? Is it possible to purchase these trim pieces?
So many questions, so uninformed :p |
