My screen wash was becoming a mere dribble, and I really dislike driving with a dirty or smeared screen.

The cause of the problem was the non-return valve in the washer pipe just ahead of the 'Y' piece. The steel spring inside the valve had disintegrated, almost blocking the flow. I tried a replacement valve, but this required a lot of pressure to open - again restricting the flow.

So I removed the valve and replaced it with a connector. Wow! There's now a really good pressue of washer fluid to the screen. If there is any fall-back of the fluid back to the reservoir it's really not noticeable, as the flow is pretty much instantaneous even if the vehicle has been left overnight.

So my advice would be - get rid of the valve!  Idea

(I know this mod doesn't rank highly amongst ball joint flips, body lifts and the rest. But it's very satisfying anyway.)
