In general - no.
Two reasons really - firstly, the antenna characteristics are different as the frequency ranges are quite far apart, so the antenna length and characteristic impedance need to be different for VHF radio and CB radio. Secondly, when you transmit on the CB, you'll instantly fry the receiver of the VHF radio as the signals it's designed to receive are much, much lower in power than what your transmitter will be thumping out.
Now, that's not to say you couldn't fit some sort of isolator switch to disconnect the VHF radio from the aerial when you're going to use the CB, and accept that reception won't be optimal - but it'll probably be OK for strong stations (eg the main BBC ones) in good signal areas. However given that you already have a perfectly good radio aerial for the radio, and you'll need a different type of aerial in a different location (roof ideally) for the CB radio, it's not usually an issue. |

I use one of these, ariel splitter, the radio reception is tons better (all channels) using the CB antenna than the standard Paj antenna and hasn't made any difference with the CB even when using both at the same time... |

Simple answer to this is yes you can use a CB ariel for normal FM radio as all you are doing is using the ariel to recieve signals.
As long as you dont try and bodge the coax cable to fit your normal radio and your CB you will be fine,
if you want the ariel to run both then you wil lneed to buy a splitter so you can switch between the two. |

Yes. Done it years ago with a mini DV27 (wish I still had it.. ) on a Volvo using a coax splitter switch. Worked great! |

If you put a splitter in does that mean you can't have the radio on while using the cb? |
