Hi Simon, avoid the lacquer as if it is hit and chipped it peels off, much better to clean them back and regularly polish. |

Thanks Assassin, but I've found that if you leave then unlacquered they go cloudy very quickly. I then lacquered them a couple of years ago and they've remained clear. If the surface is properly prepared, that's going to minimise chipping and peeling. I can see no evidence of either on mine. |

You're welcome Simon, I have seen numerous lacquer problems with plastic which is why I said avoid it, many types of lacquer also yellow over time which is the reason I do mine with toothpaste and a damp cloth and then polish them.
I polish my vehicles regularly, well, all except the Unimog, and polishing the headlights isn't a problem. |
