I have a dimension 1 pajero and my wife a delica starwagon both with the same problem the alloy wheels ! On both trucks the water has somehow got behind the lacquer and is starting to pitt into the surface of the alloy.
Has any one got any ideas or formulas to correct this ? any ideas would be grateful as we would like to get the polished finish back Shocked

hi and welcome to the club ,if you alloys have started to pit under the laquer then you only hope i would have thought would be to have them shotblasted and repainted and laqured ,it all depends on how bad they are really ,but it may bew worth getting a decent alloy cleaner i use comma alloy cleaner and giving them a good spruce and see if that helps ,hopefully it may do all the best marc Very Happy

Hi Marlin

I work for bmw and repair a lot of damaged alloys.
Unfortunatley their is no easy way of repairing polished alloys.
The way the alloys are made is that they are painted the colour for the complete wheel like the dark grey inside the teardrops and then highly polished so that the painted bit stays there and the rest is polished, then laquered and baked in a oven to about 250 degrees c.
Depending on the damage it may be poilshed out and then laquered again.
But failing that you can also get the whole alloy painted silver to look like new again.
Hope this helps you a bit.

Murdo
