Hi all,
I have a 2003 shogun 4m41 and the fuel pump packed up. I have fitted a fully rebuilt, tested and warranted pump. The engine runs but is producing a lot of white smoke and has a bad misfire between 2000 and 4000rpm. I have not road tested yet as I have the fuel tank off for cleaning, I have a temporary tank set up under the bonnet.
The engine runs nice at idle. All the timing marks are correct, the bottom pulley mark is on the zero mark with the two cam shaft lumps up means TDC no 1 cylinder, fuel pump gear notches in alignment when inserted then one tooth out when the pump is pressed home. All electrical connections double checked, all new gaskets, new EGR valve. The injectors were new 10000 miles ago. The injector return line to the pump holds a good vacuum. There was a lot of metal particles in the old fuel and am wondering if the injectors are now contaminated. I am at a complete loss, any suggests anyone ?
Thanks. |
