Hi,

I own a 2004 mitsubishi shogun elegance 3.5 lwb gdi. This is my pride and joy with 97000 miles on the clock and serviced carried out every year since new. Recently had a miss fire the day before the mot. Code read injector open circuit cylinder 3. The garage informed me that a new coil back was fitted but there was still a problem. When I picked up the shogun the engine was making a loud noise when pulling away, which it didn't when I took it in. I decided to go to another garage. They replaced the alternator, although this stopped the noise, they said it wasn't the  bearing causing the noise . Anyway on picking up the shogun from them, it took a few more turns of the engine to fire up, now I have a fuel rail sensor code appearing, the engine warning light came on for a while, I erased the code and its not returned, but still struggling to start. No miss fire when running. I've already spent over a week £1,200 on this problem, any advice will be appreciated. I have a code reader, which is handy but doesn't fix the problem.

Mitsubishi main dealer not very helpful.

Surely if the senor or the micro filters were faulty it would not run smoothly when driving at all. No miss fire when running. Hi, not funny to have such a problem.
Especially when even the dealer dont know how to solve it... :-/
I cant give you a clue either, hopefully you find a forum-member or a Pajero specialist with a good hunch
