Sorry nearly there, what's the right grease to fill the bearing with? And does the drive plate need sealing back on, if so will black rtv do the job?
Cheers,
Dave. |

Hello,
Good writing.
But i would like to ask if some one can provide the seal dimension and bearing designation so would be able to buy material before cracking things up.
Any way i need information for pajero 2.5tdi my 2005, which is probably likely the same.
Many thanks.
Have a nice day.
Kind regards,
Marko |

Just did my front bearings this afternoon, thanks for the freezer tip (wife gave me the most quizzical look as I put the races in there!!) In case it's helpful for someone else, I made a tool for tightening the hub nut based on one of the old races originally with 2 pins welded on the inside but getting these in the exact right place and getting the race to fit inside the hub was a nightmare, so I ground one off and used just the one pin and welded a bar across the edge of the race to avoid the CV spindle. It seems to work fairly well as the old race keeps the pin acting squarely on the nut. |

I made this up from tie bar. The hole allow for adjustment and I use small bolts for pins. Large hex allows for torque wrench use.

Maybe a silly question but how long do you leave the bearing seats in the freezer |
