Try P1272: Pressure Limiter Malfunction.  Possibly the suction control valve but get it checked first.

I was planning to do it myself. Would you be able to advise how to check the suction control valve?

I used to have access to a Mutt diagnostic at the local dealer but they have gone. I seem to remember the SCV needs to be calibrated to work properly.

I have had a look at the Haynes Manual and the SCV does as you have said  require calibration. Do you know of any hand held scanners that can be used? I'm planning
to keep this car for the long term so it's worth investing in one.
