Ok so as i see it bio deisel is a direct replacement for diesel, no need to mix it.
The biggest problem is sourcing and cleaning the used oil, the next step is thinning it, using ethenol or even white spirit.
The reason for mixing new vegie oil with diesel is soley to thin it down.
Is it not possible to thin new vegie oil, then we could use it as a replacement for deisel.
no need for diesel.
None of the aggro of trying to source and clean used veggie oil.
cost 33p per ltr + thinner.
Oh not forgeting the duty.
Or am i missing something Question

Just a little word of warning guys. There is more to using used oil than meets the eye. The oil has to be filtered pretty well. The acidity level has to be reduced, used oil is very acidic due to the cooking. This can cause you problems in the longer term with corrosion of the fuel injection pump. The oil has to be treated to remove the glycerine and any soaps or this too may cause you problems as the cyliders can gum up. The water has to be removed or reduced to about .5%There are a number of sites that will keep you right, if you type in how to make bio diesel a whole world of info will come your way. Up here in the north of Scotland the veggie oil becomes extremely waxy in cold weather, this in turn blocks the fuel filters and can damage the engine.I personally recomend the use of well filtered bio diesel, it is worth the little bit extra effort and attracts the lower duty rate. All I am saying is do the research prior to risking your engine.
