|

Hello, does anyone know, the wiring layout, to enable me to fit a new audio system?
The pajero i recently bought, still has the origional audio instaled, i have removed this, intending to install my new system, but aarrrggghhh, all the wires leading into the unit are green, the main loom has coloured wires, but i dont really want to start cutting into them, not knowing what leads to what, Has anyone succesfully installed thier own system, and can you offer me any help,
I also did notice that when the ariel lead was disconected, from the unit the radio would not switch on? HELP |

These threads might be helpful.
you can buy this connector form halfords. PC2 -12-4 Mitsubishi >ISO Car Harness Adapter. The radio will then just plug straight in without any cutting or rewiring. If that fails, then...............

The radio gets it's earth from the aerial, thats why, when it's unpugged, it won't work!
Hope thats helpful

Hi There, the halfords adaptor pc2-12-4, seems the wrong connector, the old mitz audio is a standard rad/cass, the connection on the harness is all in 1 block?
also can anyone tell me what colour the live feeds are for connecting my new system, and am i right in thinking the ariel is also the earth/neg for the radio..
thanks |

Look on my earlier post, the link should now work.
The mitsi plug you are on about is a one piece plug, you can buy this at halfords, i just did mine using it.

Have a look on ebay search under mitsubishi radio there are made up leads on there they dont list pajero but all others are on there so ask the seller the question and its far cheaper then halfords £3.00-£7.00.

The first thing is that you don't use the PC2-12-4, you have a 2.8 which uses the PC2-46-4, it's a single plug.
I'm guessing that the extra wires you have added to the radio cable are from the permanent live connection.
The radio cable you have, with the extra wires, is going to be obsolete when you get the new PC2-46-4 attached.
There is usually a wiring diagram with ISO pinout info in the radio instruction booklet, you should be able to back-track the wiring to see where the extra wires are connected to in the radio cable. |

the two extra wire attachments, are not connected to the wiring loom, they are in two seperate black slieves, and seem to come from under the console, yet they are joined into the connection that plugs into the radio, has anyone come across this on thier radio connections, and is it safe to disregard these wires when i install my new system, as when i fit a pc4 conector, these wires will be cut from, the original radio fitting, with no place to re-fit them?
hope this makes some sence, coz im getting more confused, writing this |

It's quite simple really, is there anything which doesn't work when you disconnect the connector from the main wiring loom?
If everything is working then there's nothing to worry about!
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the wires shown on your other post with the Turbo Timer image the same colour as the ones to the radio cable! If (and I think they are) they are the same cables, just toss the Turbo Timer and don't worry about the wires! |
