hi all i have a 2.5 SWB AND RECENTLY NOTICED a ball bearing blcking a vac hose going to a actuator on the inlet manifold. it had been glued in place. so i took it out ... yes it started to run like poo..so under further investigation realised it was keeping a valve open from exuast manifold to inlet manifold. some sort of exaust gas recirculation system im told! can anyone tell me more on how its surpossed to work and if i evan need it ,seen i've been driving it as it was for 1.5 years.. cheers . ps; im in New Zealand, and was happy to join your club for info thanx PPS; I origianlly wrote this tied and hungover, |

Welcome to the Paj nuthouse
use the Search button at the top of each page and type EGR
oh yeah, happy reading, it'll take many hours
take the EGR off and try cleaning it to get it to work, if it runs like poo, it's stuck open
if it was stuck closed, the ballbearing wouldn't make a difference |

You didn't HAVE to join for info, you would be welcome anyway. There are many members based all over the world - in fact there are already a number in NZ. If you look through the memberlist and filter on location you may find some near you.
In the mean time, read this if you want to understand how it works generally (it's a Toyota article but informative):
http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h61.pdf
and follow it up with the 'search' facility.
Just be prepared for a few days reading!!
Good luck and welcome, Paul. |

Tied to what? You must have had an arm free at least. (Perhaps a stag night prank?) |
