Hi all
Here's one for all you electrically minded folks
Headlamps failed so came home on fogs. Next day headlamps working again
Week or so later failed again. but came on half way home. Been intermittent for some weeks now. Friday last failed and not seen a glimmer since.
Sidelights OK as are all other electrical systems.
Have checked all fuses OK
Have swapped sidelight / headlight relays to no effect
Have checked multi plugs under coloum and they seam OK
Have checked bulbs  OK
Anybody any ideas where to go from here  Local auto electrian is very good but not cheap and I hate to be beaten. Have Haynes bible but not much help
Any help much appreciated

Steve
Find the h/lamp fuse and try replacing it with a new one
I had one before that looked ok but had "blown" near the end of the fuseable strip [couldn't see it]
It kept touching now and again, causing the same probs as you got
Good luck
Colin

Chech Earth.
I understand Paj uses earth switching so use a test lamp connected to earth and test the wire at each of the plugs. Or you could start in the middle, if the feed is there go on if not go back Idea  Idea   Smile

Hi Folks
Update on headlights

Now working again Very Happy  Very Happy

Problem was a multi plug beneath the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment. The clue was the fact that there was power to the fuse but none further on down the line
It has one half attached to the bottom of the fusebox bracket ant the other half was half out!!
Checked all was clean and refitted plug correctly
Everything lit up as normal. yeeee haaaa.
More cash saved
Many thanks to all who took the time and trouble to reply to my cry for help.
As always helpful advise was forthcoming. Hope my experience will help someone with similar problems.

Thanks again  Steve Very Happy
