I don't know how much you guys would be interested in this, but it has been most helpful to my tired, old eyes.

My Mitsubishi had Auto hubs and my Toyota had the ADD shift-on-the-fly. I have blown auto hubs before. It's impossible to blow a Toyota ADD hub, they are like the Mitsubishi Super Select hubs, always locked. But, because they are always locked, the CV's are always turning, etc. More wear and tear and lower gas mileage.

So, I trashed the MMC Auto hubs and the ADD flanges and put factory Aisin hubs on both the Mitsubishi and Toyota. They are very durable and strong. No plastic parts like the MMC Auto's have.

When it snows, I lock them in before I leave the house. When I leave the asphalt, I lock them in when I air down the tires. It is no big deal. For you guys with the Super Select, a person here in the US that has done this reported that he gets 1-2 mpg better gas mileage. I don't know.

If you do this, I have a suggestion. The factory Aisin's are hard to read and distinguish whether or not they are locked; small writing.

What I did was to paint the cover all black with the arrowed bar painted red. This way, when it is unlocked, you see one red line. When they are locked, you see two red lines. No more having to bend down and try to read the writing.

This picture shows the Mitsubishi Aisin's in the unlocked position. One red mark:

This picture shows the Toyota Aisin in the locked position. When you turn the bar to the lock position, the one red mark is seperated into two red marks:

I can tell at a glance whether or not they are locked without having to bend over.
