rear step & tow bar

i dont know if anybody else has tried this method of fitting the step with the tow bar.
what ive done is fitted a 2" drop plate from towsure upwards from the tow bar top holes (tow hitch fitted to lower holes). i have then cut the step mounting bar about 1" away from where the step is welded to the bar. i have then drilled 2 holes in the bar & bolted it onto the drop plate. beats having to weld anything. 12 stone stood on it & it didnt move. only draw back.... when the caravan is hitched up, i have to tie the step up or it catches on the tow hitch.

Like this, cant see it on here but i have a screw under the step to screw in to lift it up if its in the way,
