I find if I climb in the back and slide the red lock catch to the left, usually with a screw driver as it's quite hard to move, that unlocks the rear door Exclamation

That's what it made for.

After removing the rear door panel, Ive found that by smearing a little bit of copperslip on the cam after first lubricating it with some WD40 usually does tht trick, I did mine about 6 months ago when I had this problem and it has worked fine ever since Exclamation

Thanks guys,

Was not going to move with a screwdriver, so off the door trim came and manual movement was required - all greased up and works like a dream.

Thanks again

Filled the back with rubbish for the tip on Sunday - as one does this time of year.

Didnt I look an idiot having to unload it all from the front doors of a swb when the rear door wouldn't open!

Not had chance to look this evening - can the rear door trim be removed when the door is in the closed position?

cheers

Pat

You will find this nigh on impossible with the door locked, use a small screwdriver to move the slide back and then the door should open, then proceed as in previous posts,HTH Exclamation

Thanks Nobby.

Tried the screw driver trick - no luck!

Perhaps I didn't use enough force - how difficult is it to move the red slide catch? I got to the point where I thought I was about to do more damage than good.

You have to put some some force on it but remove the surround around the catch first. To do this look at the pull lever and underneath there is a rectangular flap use a small terminal screwdriver to lift the flap and beneath this you will find a phillips screw undo this and the surround should release which will give you better access to the slide. If you are still having problems PM me Exclamation

I tried that in past but eventually gave up the ghost so the panel had to come off and parts lubricated with WD40 and Coppaslip Very Happy

if you look up into handle assembly you see a 10mmx10mm bit of white plastic. with a pen or screw driver push it up the door should open, if not lock and unlock then try again.

Found time to look at my rear entry today - been blocked for a month!

Tried the screw driver trick again - bit more force this time. Sharp end on the red slider, couple of blows with the palm of my hand on the other end -popped open with no trouble. Peeled the trim, greased the rods, all works fine now.

1/2 an hour and I was cleaning my hands!

Thanks for the advice folks.

Now looking to sell my 2.8 swb - anyone know anyone looking to buy?
