My Pajero mini also has this funny little mirror on the nearside wing.

What is it supposed to be for?

Greetings.

I found the answer to this one.

I have an English language glove box manual, (I found it on ebay, the car was imported into New Zealand I think) It has a picture of the area it is supposed to be focused on, and it is the bottom of the door and the road by it to help you get the right distance from the curb, as if like you can't just know where you are?

The manual was expensive, but it is very useful to have one!

I have dug out the email confirmation

Delivery estimate: 23 Jan 2012 - 3 Feb 2012
1 "Mitsubishi Pajero Jr '95 - '98 English Language Owners Handbook (JPNZ English Language Owners Handbooks)"
JPNZ; Paperback; £19.25
In stock
  Sold by: auto_books_direct

Hope it helps.

Fay

Got this book thanks.

Not quite the same model as mine, but close enough.

Thanks again.

The little mirror is a legal requirement in Japan, and is supposed to give the driver a view of the side of the car to assist with parking.  This is a feature of all cars built for the Japanese market.

I would like to remove mine, and replace the mirror with a simple blanking plate.  Does anyone know where I can get one from?

Just use a couple of dome-headed bolts and paint them the same colour as the body - hardly noticeable.

Got one!

What a sweet little car.
Could do with an overdrive but nothing is perfect.

Photo will follow, black over silver auto 90000K on the clock.

Some might say that (can't find pound sign) 3800 is a lot for a 15 year old car, but I have never seen a car of this age this clean. It can only have been driven indoors!

I don't think it has ever been in 4 wheel drive, it is a stiff as all tomorrow, I am sure if I get it on some grass and wiggle things about it will free up. There are a couple of little irritations, the outside temp guage shows E zero, the altimeter doesn't work, loose wire, or does anyone know where the sensor is?  The light behind the D in the selected gear indicator doesn.t work, but tha
?
I have a million questions but I'll settle for two now.

That little mirror on the front nearside wing. What is it supposed to point at?

Does anyone have views on a sunroof, I fancy one of those Webasto concertinaring  ones. Does anyone have any thoughts.

Fondest,

Fay

Did you get the Webasto sunroof fitted in the end?  My concern about fitting a sunroof would be about how this would fit for a water-tight finish, due to the ribbed detailing on the roof...  Confused

I'm intending doing the same to mine - but three years on I still haven't got round to it!
