Anyone had these or have any views on these before i fork out ?
I drive on the tarmac the majority of tiem but live rural so need the traction in winter especially in the Dales

I have the hankook on a spare set of 16" alloys and fit them during the winter. Have not used them for big mileage yet, but they seem like a good all-round capable winter tyre. |

Gents,
Many thanks for the feedback, i looked at Cooper MS2s as an option, not so keen on the BFGs though.
Cheers |

I have Pirelli Scorpion Zero's on at the moment I'm not impressed with them where I live (rural Wales) would be ok for 'city' life I think. There has been lots of advice on the forum lately about tyres and BF Goodrich A/T's appear to get the best reports for the sort of terrain you and I use, BFG's are quite expensive so I'm leaning toward the Cooper ST's which also receive very good feedback, I do like the Cooper STT's but think they may be a little OTT for my requirments. Have a look through some recent post on 'tyres' lots of technical help there also. |

I ran Hilux`s and Landcruisers for 20 years and used BFG AT`s all the time. Great grip in the wet, great grip in mud and snow and they do huge mileage too (provided you keep your tracking right and dont scrub the outers)
Now I own a SWB Shogun I have them on it too |

Cooper do a good 50/50 tyre for an equal mix of off road and on road, and a good 70/30 where you do more on road than off road.
Nexen also do a good range and are reasonably cheap and they have just won tyre supplier of the year.
Personally I would go for the Cooper or Nexen. |

For winter you need road tyres as they offer the best traction on snow and ice as they have more contact with the surface, but if you off road I would suggest the Cooper as a suitable compromise. |

All,
Many thanks for the feedback, it's making the decision harder but at least it's more informed.
The last thing I want to do is end up with a poor choice having paid out a few hundred quid!
Thanks again all |
