Hi,is it safe to use veg oil in a mk3 3.2 did?.Tia. |
No it isn't. It will ruin the injection pump. |
And clog up the injector nozzles and if this crud drops off it can easily hole a piston. |

Stingrey is correct in the most important aspect which is the transesterification process and if done correctly you maintain a lot of the lubricity, done incorrectly and a lot of the lubricity is removed, and many people use the wrong process and the wrong chemicals cause major issues, and the main problem is the home transesterifiers doing things on the cheap, the same people bragging about undertaking the process in open chambers emitting huge quantities of volatile gases, then showing themselves using electric drills to agitate it and this is more dangerous than putting a lit match to a barrel of petrol as in many cases of the videos of these morons, you can actually see the blue sparks from the drill as they are agitating it.
Other problems are with older vehicles having work done on their diesel engine injection systems and in many cases the specialists used cheaper than OE quality products to keep prices down, now, in their day they were fine and met all relevent standards but if the work was done at anytime before bio-diesel was introduced they are at significant risk of deterioration and will break down, most modern fuel system seals and rubbers are now upgraded using Viton or similar rubbers such as type 1 FKM or other similar flouroelastomers with specific emphasis on the fatty esters and copolymer linking will all be fine, the the previous nitrile and NBR compounds commonly used in rubber piping will not. |
