Truck tyres are remould or re-treads which ever definition you use.
I disagree with you disagreeing, again its your experience and years back yes few issues, maybe posted on forums,as peeps dont post " been out today and tyre has not blown out"
so look at it differently.
As said they have come on a lot recently................simple as that
How old are the tyres that have blown, should be changed after 5yrs
How did they blow out, sharp rocks or tread come off..........heard that too but as said things have moved on
Would i fit them,no,i prefer to know history but then again if you buy a used car they are used tyres so 2nds or 3rd,maybe 5ths if few owners..........just another point.
Just opinion that is all |

Well the big machos blow out under braking.
Always lets go down side of tread.
I know what you mean about blow outs lol.
the amount of tyres that have just had a puncture lol but owner claims its a blow out.
or they drive it flat and melt sides of tyre until it painful to drive lol.
A blow out is driving and bang, your tyres gone, I often wonder whats there not to get here. |

Lets be serious for a second about ALL remoulds...if they was that dangerous they would NOT be allowed to be sold to the masses...have you ever seen a live grenade for sale on eBay?
TBH, if I was selling tyres I'd try scaremongering tactics to get people to part with double, even treble their money |

Cdj thats a bit of a rum comment.
I wouldnt say there dangerous lol depending on wether it blew out and caused a accident.
there just not as reliable, how can it be when its a years old tyre.
do you not see all the carcases off tyres on the roads from lorrys lol.
I use to work at a lorry yard, they only had driver remoulds by michelin.
I use to see no end of these out if shape where tyre tread is coming away.
ive took tons off 4x4s that have blown out on roads, I even know 3 people this happened to.
all im saying is when I take my vehicle out I wanna get there and back with peace of mind.
I often tow horses and last thing I want is a blow out.
I dont care what im towing etc hence why our trailers only have a avon ride 950 trailer tyre.
there tough as and nothing goes through the sidewall as trailers turning kills tyres especially with load. |

"Rums" me middle name
Reference the lorry tyres at side of the road...I tend to imagine how many miles they do a day, what's the tacho limit again? Constant miles...a lot more than what the average Joe would do, especially me
On my old car I had run flats on, Pirelli. Arguably one of the best makes, it was very obvious the tyre was not a remould...long story short(ironic I know, looking at the length of this post ) going round a corner rear back tyre gave out, the whole tread separated for the tyre...luckily it was a corner first setting out from traffic lights so I was going slow. 2mins earlier and I would have been travelling at 40mph going round a slight bend leading up to the traffic lights on red...lucky to say the least.
My point being from my experiences, when it's your time it's your time...the make of a tyre won't contribute...but I'm a weirdo and believe in destiny and all that jazz
Opened myself up for some more bashing am sure but hey who gives f, it's all fun |

This is the case on any remould.
tons of tread left.

so your saying that all remoulds blow out like this..........
the other picture you have posted....... the sidewall is all cracked up anyway, that tyre was knackered efore it let go, it would be interesting to find out how long that tyre had been on the wheel being used before it let go...
as for your statement about all remoulds being dangerous........
it's all carp,
remoulds have to pass a standard to get approval for road use, no matter what rubbish you want to spout and what tests you run in your head to justify your drivel what i have just typed is fact, if they are not safe they are not allowed on the road.

read that before you start commenting that you know better than the people who approve the things |

No not all, gegs thats sat at back of my unit for ages, hence the digging.
they do perish much quicker than a new tyre thats a fact.
when you buy new tyres theres a shelf life.
its a letter on tyre sidewall.
Apparently a tyre off a car rots twice the speed so im told as air both sides.
often from micheldever I get a phone call, theres really good make tyres, anything from Michelin you name it.
there shelf life is done, I can at times buy cheaper than a budget, had this with a set of pirellies.
from what im seeing at the mo, if that new tyre law comes in surely remoulds will not be legal in uk.
they want a tyre not to exceed no longer than 5 years.
thats due to that bus and tyre blow out, tyre was over 20 years old and just been fitted.
I read the article with my invoice, there trying to set a disgard date
the date was from 2 years to 5 years but undecided.
its the lady who lost her son or daughter who is pushing it.
if this law does come in then I would only assume remoulds wont be legal in uk.
I have seen some rough old tyres but then again I seen some real good tyres at 5 years old, ie on my horse box.
Its a tricky 1 and either way its gonna cost alot of people alot of tyres if comes in, especially me as tyres on trailers last for years. |

Gegs just looking back at pictures, I wouldnt say its that bad.
the guy was gay, he would use tyre dressing, it kills the tyres.
he never took his truck off road, god knows why he wanted these tyres in the 1st place! |

So i am gay am i for dressing tyres now and then, with right choice in products that DONT CONTAIN HARMFUL PROPERTIES then they actaully prevent UV danage and repel water etc etc.
It stops cracking on the outer walls, makes them look better too,but thats a matter of opinion obv,but saying its gay and kills tyres is just a pretty dumb comment tbh.
Oh and my "gay dressed tyres" do go off road too..................some times |

INSA turbo remoulds on my Shogun and also my dads 90. Mine are Mountain which are AT pattern. My dads are one of the MT patterns.
Been on the 90 for 4 years about 40k miles. On my Shogun they came with it when I bought it, have covered about 10k since last July.
No problems with either. I would buy again. |
