A great idea Stuart ...
but don't forget 3rd party claims ... one major incident (death) could wipe out the entire pot in one go ...
So then you're talking about re-writing the insurance - ie taking out insurance to cover your insurance fund
Additionally ... I believe that in order to provide ANY insurance, you have to be regulated by the industry ombudsman ...
Maybe worth a look ... however ... and this is where it gets interesting ...
The larger the 'book' that a broker holds, the more bargaining power that broker has with the underwriters ...
IF every club member took out their insurance with 2Gether FS, they could, pretty much, name their own premium.
WIN - WIN

it sounds a great idea -
in my mind a huge proportion of insurance premiums is wasted on non essential costs - and inflated prices charged by garages because an 'insurance job' is seen as a 'write your own cheque'
there is a wealth of knowledge in this forum, enough for all costs to be mitigated to such an extent that it would justify a lower premium.
but an 'independant' policy would have to be self regulated, or have a team of regional loss adjusters - and the logistics could be a headache.
good idea though |

of course this would be the ideal solution - 'take over' an already established company.
(in take over i mean literally become their dominant customers en mass) |

Hi Simon,
I'd be up for this, I'm with Tesco's currently, but any insurers don't like anything from the norm.
Sadly, paj's provide lots of excuses to raise premiums and excesses mines £450 which rather negates the whole point of having insurance in the first place. Bull bars, imports, non standard alloys, sound systems, and nuts who just can't spend enough on in car improvements ( including me!!).
Love Stuarts idea of independant company and as pocuk grows, who knows, be really great if you can sort something out, perhaps we should offer you a bonus.
I'm sure your worth it !!
Cheers
Paul. |

I think this is a great idea but....... unless you get the whole of the "Insurance Company" underwritten by say Lloyds then I am sure you would not be able to operate...... I don't have any intricate Insurance/Financial knowledge but I am sure that someone will !¬!
I am up for this if it comes off !! |

Count me in on this one, currently I know if mine gets written off I will loose money and then not be able to afford another paj in the condition mine is, anything that would safe guard this is a bonus and if it cost an extra 50-80 quid to insure it would still be worthwhile considering you'd probably get more than a grand in return. |
