One Saturday morning my phone went, the misses was out away working so just me and the kids. " o reet matey, don't suppose you cud do us   a favour cud you"

No probs Rick what's up matey

Stuck in the snow my mate
Aye , right tell me where and on my way

Kids chucked in the shogun and of I set to see what had happened

Well a van got stuck in front of Rick, as he undertook he plowed into about 3ft of snow

Winch time !!!

Pics

The approach, i rember thinking WT.....looked like a snow blower blowing across the road , bit further back the snow was up to the roof of cars!!

Already dug all this out

Looking back at the winch distance , 2 strops and the winch all out other than a wrap on the drum !

Slow winch later and Rick saved

Rick is a great man, always got a reply to many a stupid question that I have PM'd him, and the answer was always right too. I've been meaning to drive my paj over to the UK for ages to get him to cast his expert eye over it

Just realised he is always wearing camouflage, it is amazing anyone could ever find him  Laughing

Never met rick my self, but everyone who has, only have good things to say about him,and that speaks volumes about a person, hes always willing to help any one out without being patronizing and freely gives out his vast mechanical knowledge, when rick gives an answer to a problem you know its correct and thats priceless.hope you get well soon rick.

Thanks for pics Mark, good old days mate.

Among all the things that rick has taught me and shown me on cars, my biggest fear being to change a cambelt, he said: Take YOUR time walt! don't rush it!

a couple of years ago, I had to change the oil seal on a Mazda, remembering all the advice, I still managed to mess up the timing by a tooth!  Embarassed
so PMs back and forth with good old rick, until we sorted it out.

So distance didn't matter, he was there to help me out.  Very Happy
