I have a Pajero mk1 and when i first turn the heaters on or have them on when starting there is a very pungent smell that comes from them. Its that bad it makes me gip. Does anyone know what causes this and how it can be rectified.
Thanks

HI RICHARD, ARE YOU LOOSING ANY WATER? IF YOU HAVE A SMALL LEAK ON THE HEATER MATRIX, THE SMELL COULD BE ANTIFREEZE,AS THE HEATER WARMES UP THE ANTI FREEZE EVAPORATES AND IS DRAWN INTO THE CAR! IT IS A SWEET SMELL, SNIFF YOUR RAD CAP TO SEE IFF ITS THE SAME, GOOD LUCK , COLIN

SECONDED !!

My car absolutely stank of ripe socks - it's the air con filters get clogged up with toe nails and bogey (or is that just me?)

The Haflords spray works a treat - just make sure you follow the instructions and have the A/C on with the RECIRC on!
