Hi

my 2006 diesel shogun 3.2l  is not starting. Two months ago it had serious idling issues and the fuel injector pump was serviced. The idling problem was solved. Then someone gave me kerosine instead of diesel, which was cleaned out after about 30 miles and the fuel filter changed, two. days later  the car had minor idling problems. I brought it to a garage and then the car refused to start completely.

Options are:

1) buy a new pump, crazy price, Mitsubishi your robbing your clients

2) try to service the existing pump again

3) buy a second hand pump from eBay, is there any chance these will work?

4) maybe a better garage can get it working as is? The mechanic claimed he did not tamper with anything but I am not sure I believe him

5) maybe it is another problem?

Can anyone with experience advise me. Thanks for reading my sad tale

Hi Culmore, did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am having similar trouble but with a Gen 3 (2001) DiD.

I am being advised to change the engine to the 2007 4m41 as it has only a high pressure pump not and fuel injector pump, which is easier to maintain. hmmmm I have no idea if this is. true but no one out here can fix my 2006 fuel injector pump.

Is that compatible with my car? Can I just pop that late 2006 engine into mine or is it not that simple ?
