The brake line size is likely to be 4mm outer diameter, still often sold as 3/16" in this country. Double flares are most likely.

This diagram came from an ebay listing for a flexi hose listed as suitable for your vehicle.

Flexi hose MK3 Pajero

The fitting is likely M10 x 1mm Pitch. See my post in your other thread about the difference between Euro and Japanese metric fittings.

Looking at some other photos, pipes listed as suitable for your vehicle appear to use the Euro type fittings.

The overhall condition of the pipe is very good.it was just the last inch where it screwed into the flexi hose that was coroded, the fitting must scrape off protective layer and then the steel rusts to the fitting, yes 10mm fittings and 3/16 pipe.ordered Cupronickel pipe as you mentioned, cheers for the advice.

Brake fluid is also hygroscopic which means it attracts water when exposed to moisture in the air. If there was a very slight leak it could also have caused the steel pipe to corrode.

I have found that smearing a small amount of red rubber grease around the caliper bleed nipple threads stops them corroding.

I also blow out any leftover brake fluid from the nipple with brake cleaner after bleeding, then put a dab of the same grease into the rubber cap before refitting.
