2005 Shogun LWB, blanked off the rear air con system up front under the bonnet as the usual leak over the rear axle appeared, does anybody know what amount of R134a to put in now?

I am told by “experts” that is should be 1050gms  as standard so I am guessing half that, although other “experts” say 780gms as does the actual machine which vacs it out and you input your car model.

So vac’d out whatever was in there until it had nothing, left for ten minutes to see if it held, it did, it sucked in 300 grams then I had to fire up the engine and air con and it drew in a total of 640 grams, now freezing cold.

One happy bunny.

How did you block off the pipes?

Did you buy a kit?
