I want to tow a digger and trailer up to my house. The total weight is about 2.6 tonnes, so close to the max of 2.8 tonnes, but the road up is quite steep. Does anyone know how I could find out if I'll be able to tow it up.

The issue is generally not the towing weight but the amount of torque the vehicle can deliver through the tyres to the road surface without wheel spin. Low gears/low box / LLc are there to help!

I'm sure that makes sense, but it doesn't tell me if I'll be able to tow this up what is quite a steep hill.( although it is tarmac in good condition) Also, my Shogun Sport doesn't have LLc

It's case of you'll find out when you try! In a low gear I cannot imagine the truck not having sufficient torque.
